"I was strong enough to go through a long natural labor/birth, was still able to push - I was surprised by how strong I actually was and I think it's because of the yoga. The breathing also helped a lot and I loved the support of the group!" Jasmin K. (mom of Maya 2009)

"I enjoyed being around so many beautiful pregnant women who were feeling similar things as I was.  I felt connected and supported.  Emotionally and physically prenatal yoga helped me to relax, connect with the baby, ease aches and pains, and feel energized.  The pink light meditation helped in my labor."  Michele A. (mother of Issaac David 2005)

"Sometimes when you're pregnant it's hard to carve out time for yourself, but if you could give yourself this hour & a half the benefits are really worthwhile! For me, personally, being with other women in the same situation was great. Also, the great practice...I don't think my labor & delivery would have been as good without it!" Andrea H. (student twice - mom of Savannah 2007 & Russell 2009)

"My body, mind, and soul became stronger and more flexible.  Prenatal yoga really helped me prepare for motherhood.  Also it helped me to cope with the challenges that birth and motherhood has presented me."  Amelia M. (mother of Eric Gregory)

Testimonials:

"I just wanted to let you know...that the programs you offer...are so wonderful! I could not have gone through...unmedicated labor without the preparation I underwent in your prenatal yoga class. It truely helped me relax, live in the moment, understand pain with a purpose, and just become more physically open to undertake the biggest challenge of my life: childbirth. And being able to make connections with other local mothers was awesome! You are such a compassionate and involved instructor--feel free to call on me anytime for a recommendation or endorsement!" Casey S. (mother of Maggie Finn 2007)

"I received relief from some of the typical prenatal complaints such as low back pain and hip discomfort. I also felt an overall sense of loosening areas that were habitually tight for me as well as strengthening areas that were in need of attention. Most importantly, prenatal yoga helped remind me to be aware of my body throughout my pregnancy, thus preventing injury and making for a more enjoyable experience of pregnancy.  I would have to say being with others who were experiencing the same and different things provided tremendous support and sinking into the body gave ground to what can typically be a challenging time emotionally. The social benefits of sharing with other women, hearing their experiences and devoting time to care for my body in the company of others were huge for me, even if only for that brief period each night of class." Nikiya S. (mother of Maya and Poppy 2006)

"I liked the prenatal yoga postures while I was pregnant - a welcome change from my usual Bikram. My favorite part was being with other pregnant women and getting advice from them and you, Deborah-not just advice-but understanding and a feeling like I'm among friends! Solidarity!" Kimberly M. (mom of Aine 2009)

"I enjoyed the great bonding during "share time" - it was a place to talk about our feelings & be supported. I made friends I wouldn't have otherwise found. Physically, the practice you teach is grounding, strengthening, meditative and balancing. It helped me center myself during labor; I felt strong & focused and I believe prenatal yoga was the reason." Stephenie C. (successful homebirth, mother of Harvest 2008)

"My pregnancy was exceptionally smooth, and my body felt great throughout. I believe that my yoga classes 2-3 times per week really helped.  I also enjoyed the sharing time each class. To hear other women's experiences and to meet other pregnant women was very supportive.  Class was a special time to connect with my baby, we loved the pink light meditation, and the wealth of resources." Allison R.S. (mother of Olivia 2006)

"It was a sacred time that I committed to during the week for just myself and my baby. My body benefited so much in terms of breathing, opening, relaxing and rejuvenating." Jill A. (mother of Logan 2005)

"It relaxed me.  I learned how to breath calmly, which helped me through labor."  Shawn H. (mother of Kian 2005)

"I looked forward to my yoga class...it was an outlet socially with wonderful physical benefit .... I did not do Lamaze because yoga was so great for me. I used the breathing during labor. I had a great labor because of prenatal yoga!" Jenny C. (mother of Riley 2005)

"In Deborah's Prenatal Yoga class, she provided a yoga session that fit where I was not just in a certain trimester, but where I was that specific day. Through strength poses, breathing and stretching, I learned how to prepare for labor and delivery as well as how to relax and embrace the role of motherhood. Deborah always checked in with all of us in the first few minutes of class, encouraging us to share how we were feeling … both physically and emotionally. I cherished these classes not only for providing me with a comprehensive workout … but also for helping foster friendships that have become a support system for me as a new mother." Kim S. (mother of Anna Bella 2004)

"I would recommend this program to others, I have had previous experience with yoga, and I would recommend this class to someone who has not done yoga before.  This program is a great way to meet other women experiencing pregnancy and a great support group.  The practice itself was very helpful in terms of breathing and stretching, and I certainly believe the breathing practices were helpful and calming during labor."  Stephanie M. (Mother of Lilian 2004)

"Physically- Yoga kept me strong and taught me how to carry my weight while being pregnant.  Emotionally- Yoga helped with the ups and downs of my hormones-it helped to calm me.  Socially it was great to hear how other women were doing and what they did to relieve pains, sleep better etc."   Jennifer L. (mother of Sydney 2004)

"Thanks so much for the support in the last months of my pregnancy.  I really enjoyed how you created a space where I felt comfortable to go deep into myself during the yoga practice, thus making it a meditative experience."  Joy S. (mother of Yael Eliayah 2004)
